Entrepreneur Express: Moving Your Business Forward is Virginia's showcase program for helping new and early stage businesses. Pilot tested in Southwest Virginia in late 2006, these half-day workshops proved so popular and effective that they were taken statewide in mid-2007. Over 4,000 entrepreneurs have been trained. Entrepreneur Express brings straight talk and local resources to one convenient place so that entrepreneurs can find the information and assistance they need.
Entrepreneur Express is partnership between VDBA and many local, state, and Federal resources providers, including Virginia's Small Business Development Centers, Virginia's Community College System, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Virginia Tourism Corporation, SCORE, City and County Economic Development offices, and Chambers of Commerce.
This past year, in the midst of taking on a partner in my craft store and expanding operations, we participated in the Entrepreneur Express Workshops scheduled back in February. I am here to tell you, the workshops are a wealth of information on such subjects as personnel hiring, accounting, advertising strategies, financial resources, business plans and so much more! While the workshops are presented by professionals, they also talk to YOU .. “one-on-one.”I gained a great deal from attending these workshops and would highly recommend them to anyone who is thinking about starting a business, has recently started a business or is planning an expansion. If I had the time I would take one again to gain even more knowledge.--Suzanne Heller, Russell County |
